Professor Gail S. Goodman holds an Distinguished Chair in Psychology at the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. The university is renowned for launching the modern science of the eyewitness memory of children and utilizing child victims to testify as legal witnesses. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer and has been awarded many awards and grants. She has collaborated with numerous organisations and governments all over the world to conduct studies and policy issues pertaining to children who have been people who are victims of the law. She works as a Consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center which was previously known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a Fellow in the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Practice and Policy American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). She is a founding member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was the president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division and Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family policy and practice.
